Check in at the park at 6:30 pm, Chirripó rise to 6 to 8 hours of travel depending on the physical condition of each camper.

Tour to choose from: rise to the crests or go to the lakes of glacial origin and of course rise to “Pico Chirripó” the highest point in Costa Rica, overlooking the Páramo Forest site characteristics (Valle de Los Conejos).

The programs are tailored to the various levels of Spanish ability and to the specific needs of the learner.

• For those who are beginning learners of Spanish, we offer a five-week course in basic structure and conversation. We have designed workbooks that go hand in hand with the daily class work and allow the student the opportunity to practice what has been taught in class each day.

• The intermediate classes are for more advanced students who still need a scaffolding of grammar and more intense conversation. Workbook #2 has been assembled with this precise goal in mind.

• The advanced classes are for those who are conversant in Spanish and familiar with grammatical structures, but need more practice and exposure to other forms of Spanish language – newspapers, magazines, literature, and movies. Workbook #3 has been put together with these specific learning needs in mind.

Of course, one can always come for less time. There is a one-week minimum commitment. New classes start every Monday. We are very flexible and want to make your learning experience as effective and successful as we can.

TOTAL IMMERSION

For this aspect of the experience, the student will be placed with a Costa Rican (tico) family that lives near of the School. The student will become a member of the family’s daily life, including the sharing of meals and the opportunity to engage in conversation. The student will live in an independent bedroom, but will share the rest of the house with the family. The family’s responsibility is to interact with the student, provide breakfast and dinner, and laundry service.

The family will also help the student know about the city of Grecia and its surrounding areas. The family will help the student by speaking slowly and articulating words so that vocabulary can be learned. The purpose of all this is to expose the student to as much Spanish as possible. It is well documented that immersion is the best way to learn a language and a culture.

PARTIAL IMMERSION

For this experience, students stay in a place (hotel, villas, etc.) without the company of a tico (Costa Rican) family. In this situation, the student has more privacy and more freedom to enjoy the country.

Even though the student does not live with a tico family, he or she has the opportunity to meet the people of the country in order to practice his or her Spanish. If the student decides to stay in the villas that are part of school, he or she will be provided with breakfast, free WiFi, laundry service, gardens, and other amenities.

Classes

There is a minimum requirement of one week of classes and students may start on any Monday.

The first day of classes, each student must take a placement test which includes a written exam as well as an interview. The reason for this is to insure that each student is placed in the appropriate class for his or her Spanish language level.

Each class has a maximum of four students and the emphasis is on conversation.

Private Classes*

The school offers the option of private classes. In this type of learning environment the student attends classes alone. The level of the classes depends on the student’s Spanish language experience and interest.

10:30am: guided tour into Manuel Antonio National Park. Which contains a charming combination of rain forest, beaches and coral reefs. The forest is home for sloths, iguanas, the rare and adorable squirrel monkeys and millions of colorful little crabs. And the trail that winds around Punta Catedral affords some spectacular views.

10:30am: Get ready to enjoy one of the most amazing zip lines at Monteverde Extremo canopy.

8:00am: will start our new day doing the hike to Carara National Park, the dense tree growth makes this park a haven for many bird species, and the park is a popular birdwatching destination. In addition to Scarlet Macaws, birds found in Carara include orange-chinned parakeets and other parrots, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, motmots, jacamars, manakins, antbirds, and several species of trogon, including the black-throated trogon. Several species of water birds inhabit the park as well. These include the anhinga, several species of heron, several species of egret and kingfishers.

Sarchí has evolved into the center of this production and numerous shops dot the main road through town. Several of these souvenir outlets have back rooms where the visitor is welcome to enter and watch the local craftspeople at work as they paint the decorative patterns. The church in the center of town is also noteworthy. Painted in pastel shades of green and pink, it somehow looks more like a wedding cake than a church.

This serpentarium has over 150 snakes representing over 50 species. We also go to Grecia and Sarchi. We will visit the Poás Volcano and Botos Lagoon. Poas’s crater is an enormous, gaping hole one kilometer in diameter and 314 meters deep. At the bottom, there is a circular hot lake. The long-extinct von Frantzius composite cone -the oldest eruptive center on the massif, is at the north of the artic crater. Another cone named Botos is to the southwest. It was the active center until 7,500 years ago and now contains an astonishingly beautiful cold water lake some 400 meters in diameter.

On the way to Manuel Antonio National Park, you will cruise along the coastline enjoying scenic views and crossing plantations of African palms. You’ll also travel past photogenic villages along the Pacific Coast, until you reach the port of Quepos and the National Park.

Once in the park, you can simply relax and enjoy the beach, sunbathe or join a nature walk along the park’s trails, which will allow you to observe the park’s abundant flora and fauna. In particular, several species of monkeys, iguanas, birds and possibly even the three-toed sloth can be seen.

5:00 am Depart from your hotel to meet the group at San Jose down town.

6:10 am Driving first past coffee plantations, we will head into the mountains of BRAULIO CARRILLO NATIONAL PARK where steep slopes are covered with thick cloud forest and beautiful waterfalls can be seen from the road.

7:15 am Just after BRAULIO CARRILLO NATIONAL PARK, we stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast, fruit juice, coffee, eggs and the popular “Gallo Pinto”.

7:45 am Following breakfast, we continue to a BANANA PLANTATION, where your guide will explain the process of growing and exporting that fruit.

10:00 am We later abandon our bus and embark on the most exciting part of this tour: the boat trip into the jungle of the TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK. Were we will learn about how nature works and to get a real feel of our tropical humid rainforest. Covering 29000 hectareas. TORTUGUERO IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT NESTING SITES OF CHELONIA MIDAS, the green sea turtle, whereas its forests and waterways are home for such endangered mammals such as sloths, monkeys, agoutis, coatimundis and manatees. There are also abundant birds, such as toucans, trogons, egrets, herons and aninghas, as well as crocodiles, turtles and countless colorfull butterflies, including blue morpho.

12:00 pm We will enjoy a hearty typical buffete lunch to please the hungriest of appetites.

1:00 pm After lunch we will take a walk through the TORTUGUERO VILLAGE where we will have the oportunity to learn about the history of the town and its inhabitants.

3:30 pm Returning to the bus, we head back to San José, making a rest stop along the way and arriving around 6:30 p.m.

The canopy starts in seated in an tractor cart, that lasts about 20 minutes, and coming back at the end on a horseback riding approximately 45 minutes, after we arrive at the observation deck we start a 30 to 45 minute natural history walk where you will see and learn about the tropical ecosystems though one of our specialized guides.

Once you are at the first cable, we start the zip line course using high quality equipment which is constantly checked and renewed to ensure its safety and good condition.

The cables are located in such a way that they start from platforms at ground level ensuring that if a tree did fall it will not produce any time laps in the tour. The cables, 10 in total, span lengths of 200 meters up to the longest of 800 meters; each cable offers a different sensation and experience crossing canyons, observing waterfalls, over the tops of trees or leaving from a spectacular OBSERVATION TOWER 18 meters high. The Fortuna and Pino Blanco waterfalls, along with the majestic Arenal Volcano accompany us on this trek.

ATV Tours: We start on the ATV ARENAL TOURS base after a little explanation about how to drive the ATV and safety rules. We road to La Fortuna Waterfall, next after this we go to Jauri Town to watch different kinds of plantations, we followed to La Guaria Town looking for the Arenal River, right there we have time for a little snack; with a refreshing shower finishing soon to return to the base and its respective hotel.

We always start at the hotel Orquídeas Inn – and we always wait for you to enjoy one of the first highlights of your vacation – the best breakfast ever!

We will leave at 9:00 a.m. with your return scheduled for 5:00 p.m. We have three trips that are a little longer but you should be home by 7:00 p.m. which will give you time to have dinner while sharing the story of your day with fellow tourists.

In addition, of course, we would be delighted to take you wherever you might like to go – so feel free to plan your own itinerary. We  are 100% flexible and can accommodate with your personal plan.

Our rates include transportation, bilingual  guide, entrance fees when it is required.

They do not include cost of lunch or other meals.

These half day tours are around the Central Valley towns, which will be perfect for you if you are staying in some hotel in Alajuela, San Jose or Heredia

When you hire our services, we offer you a friendly bilingual and informative guide, a comfortable van with conditioned air, full insurance coverage, this is provide as a private service which means it will be your party and your personal driver. All they are really professional and knowledgeable of our beautiful country.

During your trip you can make all the necessaries stops, for eat something; take picture, or everything that you can need, without problem and without an additional cost.
